Sage Tea
I love herbs. I think that they add so much to the flavor of food and most of them are also simply beautiful. So as I am able, I use them liberally in my cooking. Of course, they are also medicinal. One of my favorites is sage tea. It's a deliciously earthy treatment for general sickness (cold and flu). To make tea, add rougly 1 cup of fresh sage leaves to 3 cups of water and bring to the boil. Once the water has boiled, turn it off and cover. Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes and remove the leaves. Drink the tea warm with honey or unsweetened if you prefer. Some sources say that sage has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. I don't have the research handy, but anectdotally, it always works for me! Be Well!
