- Eat before you go. Having a little snack before you go will help stave off the temptation to gorge when you get there! Most people who skip meals just make up for it later, plus extra because they're so hungry. So have a snack - go ahead! Choose a high fiber snack with a little protein (like FF Greek Yogurt with a fresh pear).
- Take a healthy treat with you! Make a dish that you know you can indulge in without feeling so bad. Try a chopped salad with fresh cucumbers, colorful bell peppers, romaine lettuce and red onions, topped with a little FF feta and brine cured olives. Yum!
- Pay attention to what you drink. Beer, wine and mixed drinks are loaded with calories! Go easy on the adult bevs and be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the afternoon and evening.
- Stand away from the buffet. Proximity to the food is a huge predictor of how much you will eat. Standing over the chips and dip will mean that while you're watching the game or chatting up a cutie, you'll be mindlessly eating! Use your table muscles and push away.
- Get active at half time! Take the opportunity to start an impromptu football game in the yard, race around the block, or do a 1/2 time dance party...come on, it'll be fun!
